LICT launches Container Management System via Internet

LICT_EPMIS_LectureLattakia International Container Terminal has moved to a new phase of advanced services compared to its competitors in the Mediterranean region, through the implementation of its leading initiative in the field of e-commerce in the Syrian Arab Republic by providing to its customers container management system via the Internet. The Syrian Arab Republic now is one of few countries that allow container management over the Internet, accordingly provide direct and instantaneous interaction with container information and container operations in the container terminal at Lattakia port.  Therefore, this development in the level of services is considered a competing step to the services provided by neighboring similar ports in the Mediterranean region.

Container Management System via Internet is an application, that provide customers from outside the terminal on a 24/7 basis, an access to abundant data and transactions via terminal’s website on the internet. Where these data include detailed information about containers and vessels, historical records of containers and vessels, bills owed ​​by customers separately for each customer, vessels berth plans and various bookings.

LICT_EPMIS_Attendees Lattakia International Container Terminal launched its container management system via Internet on 26 \ 07 \ 2011, through a seminar that was held at the terminal and hosted members of staffs from Lattakia Port General Company and employees of shipping agencies and also hosted members of terminal’s staffs  from operation, billing and information technology departments. This seminar about the “new container management system” was well received by all attendees as the new system will help raising the efficiency of terminal operating system and will improve the quality of service and communication between customers and Lattakia International Container Terminal.

Since its start in operation, Lattakia International Container Terminal has put international standards, which have no equal in the Syrian Arab Republic in terms of excellence in service, productivity, technology, efficiency and consistency. With the launch of container management system via internet, Lattakia International Container Terminal commits today and continues its commitment in strengthening and maintaining the international standards as an advanced maritime frontier for the Syrian Arab Republic on the Mediterranean Sea.
